Is Royal Mail on strike again?

Unusually, two parcels, one sent from me and one due to be received, have not turned up.

One was sent to Essex on Thursday by signed for 1st class and one was sent to me from Wales on the same day. Both of these have not reached their destination, now for them not to get there the next day is probably not completely surprising, as 1st class does not guarantee this, but for them not to arrive today either, I find very odd.

Is there any industrial action anywhere that might be affecting the flow of mail?

Dirt 3 arrived first class this morn, ordered Thursday evening at 5pm. So nothing wrong in north of the leicester-shire.

See 9 times out of 10 their service is completely fine, this is why I'm surprised they haven't turned up.

There is no national action, maybe a local problem/delay. Just put it down to bad luck.

It's not a guaranteed quick delivery service, as you already pointed out.

While they aim to deliver next day, it's only next working day, so Saturday delivery may be not possible.

Special Delivery is the only way to be sure with Royal Mail.

I received two parcels last week via ParcelForce 24, both arrived a day late.

Only Special Delivery is 'guaranteed' next day, and even then that doesn't mean it absolutely positively will get there next day. As for 1st and 2nd class, well these days that's just get there when it gets there.

Royal Mail are a joke, wife had to send both of oput driving licences back as the picture has expired, mine went back 5 days before my wifes, she got hers back on Thursday I am still waiting.
