GTX 470 upgrade to what

i will look in to it...i have a i5-760 since last year and its sitting nicely on 3.6ghz..

I have i5 760 too. If you wish to overclock your 470 try this program specificly designed for MSI cards.....http://event.msi.com/vga/afterburner/download.htm Its really easy to use and quite popular.

Need any help with it just ask.

What's the resolution? For 1920x1200 I do not recommend buying more GTX470/570 as of today. Just wait for 28nm. (SLI/CF 1GB cards is out of my consideration without doubt. Did it last year and it was horrible.)

Not so much to do with VRAM...but more about nothing this gen really fast enough to worth spending the extra money for the upgrade from a GTX470...only either GTX580 or dual-GPU card such as HD6990 will see significant improvement over an overclocked GTX470.

And no...Crossfire 6870 is a bad idea, especially when your GTX470 is not really struggling. Going dual-GPU could invite some unwelcomed problems and issues, such as micro-shuttering and drivers.

Save your money and wait for 28nm process graphic card.
