Does anyone know whether the Silver Arrow cooler clears the heat spreaders on the G.Skill RipJawX RAM?

I'm looking to get both into my new build (in a Antec P183 or Fractal Design Define R3 Case), and wanted to know if anyone can tell me whether all will fit in ok?

Thank you!

I've just installed the Silver Arrow and it only just clears my Corsair XMS3, nearly sitting on it, so I doubt they'd fit the Ripjaws mate.

I've just read that people have got these to fit, by lifting the fans up slightly I suppose. I had no option but to push them down as far as they could go, otherwise I couldn't have put my side panel on.

Righto, If I had the second fan of the Silver Arrow at the back of my case, would the heatsink still over hang the RAM slots on an ASRock Extreme 4 or ASUS Z68 Pro?

Looks like if I get the Fractal Design Define R3 it should fit according to their specs....Says it fits heights up to 165, but not sure how high the Silver Arrow is with the fans, its 162.5 without them though :\

The heatsink wouldn't hang over the ram, but you need the fan there, to push the hot air out of the heatsink.

Ok...low profile ram it is :).... now need to know if it will fit in an R3 case, and if not its back to square one :(

According to their website, it states Supports CPU coolers with height of ~165mm and mine has a limit of 163mm, so I'd say you'll be perfectly fine mate.

I did Google this and found you elsewhere, which is what I had to do, as I couldn't find anyone with a Silver Arrow in an Elite 430.;)

If I were you, I'd just go for it, as the special price won't last for much longer and you could always return it under the Distance Selling Regulations, at the end of 7 days after the goods were delivered if it didn't fit.

I'm gambling, and hoping for the best... I think it may be 1mm too big according to the listed specs. but i suspect i can force the case on and the 1mm will cause the fans to be slightly pushed down... should be ok...I hope!

Certainly is very well priced at the moment!

My old build had RipjawsX memory, the Thermalright IFX-14, which is the same as the Silver Arrow but comes with no fans, and the Fractal R2 which is the same size as an R3.
I had no issues fitting the cooler in my case, and no issues with clearance over the memory. I had to fit the memory before the heatsink to avoid slicing my fingers fiddling around afterwards, but that's the only thing, the memory isn't tall enough to be blocked by fans.
If you search through my posts you'll see some pictures of my build.

if it is too big you can always get your money back and post it back to OcUK within 7 days.

i had the same worry with my cooler (was 1mm below the max cooler height stated by coolermaster). luckily it fitted, but it is toughing the side of the case. how they expect to get something bigger in there i really dont know
