Sorry for a fairly boring thread.

looking to replace the stock cooler on my i5 750, Its an asus p55 board. G.Skill RipJaw ram in a fractal r2 case.

The temperatures aren't terrible but its not been oc'ed yet buts its pretty noisy, just want something better for when I do start to play with it. What would you recommend? I have had a look but don't want to pick something that doesn't fit or interferes with the ram slots.

thanks in advance :)

i cant find anywhere saying what the maximum cooler height for your case is. i also dont know if the silver arrow will interfere with the Gskill ram because of its tall heatspreaders.

i do know that its a Matx tower case (which means it wont be as small as mine), so the only coolers i can personally recommend in that price range would be:

zalman CNPS 9900MAX
corsair H50

the silver arrow will be way better than either of these, but i dont know if the ram will get in its way, or if it will be too tall at 160mm

Having looked at the case I think there is about 160mm (according to the website it supports coolers with height of ~165mm. so that might be ok! Just the ram concern really. I guess the H50 gets around that, I do like the look of the Silver arrow though..

the H50 on my i5 is fine overclocked @ 4.6 and i hit 67-68c in s torture test

the silver arrow is WAY better than the H50, which is why i was recommending it.

i would see if the Noctua NH D14 will fit over your ram (its very nearly as good as the silver arrow)

if not, then the H50 will probably be a good bet
