Had a bit of a google about and not found anything,

If im paying money into a bank account over the counter normally on the statement it says £xx payed in at branch x

Can i get it to say £xx payed in reference "some job"

Or people with business accounts how do you know which money going into your account is for which bit of work?

TIA

you should be able to with internet banking if you do a transfer into someones acount you can put whatever you like in the reference field , you could put "do you like dawgs" for all the bank cares

Not sure if you can when paying money in.

What if you got a package like MS Money and used that to keep track of entries?

Indeed, a friend of mine used to think it was funny to put tiny payments of a few pence into my account just so things like 'horse porn' would show up on my bank statement.

Admittedly I did find it amusing at first and luckily I didn't have to apply for a mortgage or something similar where I have to show my statement to someone! :D

Haha thats quite funny, i did it to my mrs when she was feeling a bit down last year and set up a weekly S/o saying i love you

Although the minimum payment was a quid then!
