I think you're over-spending massively.

Mobo is twice the amount you need to spend.

HDDs are silly expensive when drives £20 less are faster.

The 800D isn't a brilliant air-cooling case.

The Antec Kuhler 620 is cheaper and much better.

I'd consider a GTX580 to avoid driver issues and allow SLI at a later date when PC begins to slow down.

If it's a gaming PC there is no benefit of the i7 2600k over the i5 as games don't make use of hyperthreading.

What will you be using the PC for?

This.

Plus the RAM you chose is unnecessary. You won't see any real diffeence between that and a cheaper 1600MHz set really - link

If you go with an all-in-one watercooler like the Antec Kuhler 620 as Cookeh suggested then just go with what ever is cheapest at the time (at the moment its the G.Skill RipJawsX 8GB), if you go with an air cooler, get a low profile set.

Also you don't really need 8GB for gaming, 4GB would be enough.

Saved you over £500 :p

- 120GB SSD - not only larger, but faster and more reliable.
- Z68 mobo - good overclocker, good spacing between graphics cards, and the added benefit of SSD caching.
- Only 1 HDD, as RAID is very risky :p This drive is also faster ;)
- Best air-cooling case available.
- Better cooler, for a cheaper price :p Depending on how far you want to overclock it might be worth considering a high-end air cooler as they tend to out-perform the closed loop water coolers.
- 580 to avoid micro-stutter and driver issues
- PSU capable of 580 SLI

Even with an i7 in there you've saved more than £400 and you have better components and less issues because of it :D

thanks

Well the i7 is needed as its for more than gaming. Also he wants 2x 6950's so cant budge there. Everything else though that been suggested makes sense.

Why on earth is he stuck on 2x HD6950s? Seems weird :p

Spot of advance warning, lots of people are reporting headaches and nausea using 3D :(
