All iPhone 5 speculation/rumours/wants thread

It is sad and I agree with you.

It is also obviously a flawed argument. My girlfriend has an optimus 2x; the phone eats up flash for breakfast. I can watch all those random comedy clips online without a problem at all. It also gives me to option to disable flash should I wish to do so.

With this in mind, Apple's argument is pigheaded and highly irksome. They have made a great phone and have wonderful software; why not offer the complete web experience other phones offer?

And then look at the difference in battery life ..
My GF's a much more 'hardcore' user then i am and the bettery on her IP4 lasts dramatically longer then my Desire.
 
Am I right in thinking the release for this '5 has been delayed due to the earthquake and tsunami in Japan?

I'm heading out to Boston at the end of August for a week and had hoped to pick one up but I had heard that the release date has been pushed back into September.

yup though the phones are assembled in china a lot of the parts are made in Japan

Thing is, from what I understand 4G isn't really up and running in much of the USA and is a pipe dream fo the UK. Do you thank that's an incentive for Apple to go for a iPhone 4S rather than iPhone 5?

Trials start in Cornwall this autumn.

I think the spectrum is due to be auctionned off next year. It won't be long.
 
Is it just me or can anyone else see Apple not releasing an iPhone labelled "4S"

If they are intending to release a new iPhone with iOS5 then surely having a new handset with the number 5 in it packs way more of a punch.

Five with OS5 does indeed make more sence, but then apple are funny, their ipad2 doesn't say 2 anywhere on it or inside it. People know it is a two by the shape, themodel number doesn't even say two.

Who knows what they will go for, but a five around the time OS5 launches would make sence.

Every time we get another rumour I keep thinking it'll be substantial, but it's just more of the same speculation vis-a-vis September...

Yep, a bit annoying for those of us on the 3GS that aren't sure whether to hold out or not. It does the job still for now, so guess I'll wait till the autumn and weigh things up.
