Hey all,

Love Star Wars but never tried any of the books as I have not really been into reading untill late, and that has mostly been Zombie novels.

So wanting to get into Star Wars, but as there are hundreds of books I am wondering where to start, I am a bit of a collector with things, if I get one I want them all. So looking to collect all the books if I can from the first published to the latest.

I notice that there are as I said hundreds, some normal novels, graphic novels, childrens novels etc, is it worth getting the childrends/youth ones, or can I get away with just buying the normal novels?

The youth ones seem to get quite good reviews, even though they are only 150ish pages and aimed at children.... Hence being unsure if I will be missing out if I ignore them.... Either way there are enough books even without them to take me a long time to collect...

Thanks for any advice!

For all that is holy read the Darth Bane Trilogy they are the best star wars books. Darth Bane is the strongest sith and is the one who started the whole only 2 sith. Theres epic battles and a very gripping story. Please just read them and i dare you to say you think its average.

Darth Bane Trilogy books are:
1.Path Of Destruction
2.Rule Of Two
3.Dynasty Of Evil

No No No Get it right! Anything based on the new films is rubbish and has no place in the Star Wars Universe!

pfft they'll be nothing compared to the Thrawn Trilogy or the X-wing series which are most definitely the best books in the whole Expanded Universe.

Never read X wing series but the thrawn trilogy is THE best star wars novel.
But if you do get the chance and open your mind to some pre star wars film books.

Thrawn Trilogy. That's really all you need. In fact I'm seriously tempted to buy the hardback version, if I can find it in stock. :o

I read Truce at Bakura, which was okay, but the Jedi Academy series was badly written tosh which put me off going any further in to the Star Wars EU.

Try the X-wing Series They're a close second to The Thrawn trilogy!

I totally agree with your comments about T@B it was ok bit of an anti-climax considering it's set directly after ROTJ.
