Duke Nukem is back ....

Some people seem to like this game , but the majority are slateing it, im jsut about holding off getting it, but im a big Nukem fan:/

I think the game is let down by the engine rather then the Dev's which is known to not load textures properly on all platforms.

look at this screenshot from Singularity which runs on the same engine as Duke

Recognise any similarity's?

Here is a pick I took of Duke with my phone (sorry)

The image clearly has not loaded properly

The threads have already started over on the official forums

I tried to find a fix for Singularity on the PC at the time as that was the platform I had it on but I gave up and I don't think a patch was ever released.

The engine was changed three times and nodded beyond recognition there really isn't an excuse. The lack of AA I mentioned isn't as bad on my 32 its just the 50 inch that it looked really poor.

I bought it for the PC. Had fun until i went outside, geez those models look like there from 2000! The buses are shocking.

3 hours in and a bit fed up. Its all based in arenas. Enter a new arena, find something, shoot for a bit then move onto the next. zzz

The first hour was fun now its dragging its heels.

Whilst I would agree the graphics are pretty poor, though the Hive part of the game is very good looking, the gameplay itself isn't actually bad. I've quite enjoyed what I've played so far. I suppose it might be because my expectations were never that high.

i like it its a fun little shooter i think everyone knew it wasnt gonna be Gears or COD standard of game but its fun

I know it's based on the PC version but 80/100 seriously? :o

To be fair...I got it on PC and I probably would have given it around 70% so not as high as PC Gamer but certainly it's not terrible as with the console versions.

It would be unfair to base an opinion on the performance of a game on 360 compared to the PC...the PC version is leaps and bounds ahead in Graphics as well as Controls (keyboard+mouse) making the main differences.
