New toy, Mint e36 m3 evo edition

i dont know why people are so thrilled to find a car with no ECU codes

me, my knackered dell and 30 quids worth of cables can make that happen any time i fancy.

Only way to buy an E46 M3 really is to pay over the odds for a minter or wait until they emerge out of the other side of the market they reside in currently :(

Wait until when exactly? E46 M3 values have got MILES to drop yet.

Precisely what I just quoted?

In which case how long do you suggest people wait? E36 M3s haven't yet emerged out of the hands of undesirables and they are touching 20 years old.

As the OP has found, finding a nice E36 is now getting easier - simply because the ones owned by idiots have finally given up and died for ever in increasing numbers.

Cars owned by planks who don't look after them don't last for ever.

I'm sure there are more mint E46's out there than mint E36's - for sure - but if you have 100 mint E46's amongst 1000 for sale but 10 mint E36's amongst 20 for sale, its going to be easier to root them out...

It is easier after what? A decade of them being attainable to planks with an unsecured personal loan?

It just stuck me as a ridiculous thing to say as effectively your advice is 'If you want a nice E46 you're going to have to pay over the odds or wait 10+ years'.

Nice to have the old Joshy back.

I'm sure the OP gets what I mean't - so I honestly couldnt care less if you don't.

btw, good luck getting an unsecured personal loan for £10k unless you've got a pretty decent salary.

Oh, I vaguely get what you're trying to say. That doesn't make it any less absurd. We all know that E46 M3s aren't going to 'emerge' from their current market for years to come. Saying 'wait' is a stupid thing to say no matter how much you want to dress it up or call the old Joshy card.

I'd have thought someone who has a reputation for jumping on any and everyone who says something odd would watch want they said a little bit better.

For 'wait' read 'don't bother right now' if it sounds better to you. I wasn't actually suggesting somebody who wants an M3 sits at home counting down the years until the prats have killed all the crap ones.

Then why not hold your hands up, admit that you were a bit vague and elaborate a little more rather than playing the 'smarmy ****' card? That one only really flies if you're right

Because what he said was quite obvious to everyone else?

This has turned fun lol.
its not a chav mobile, not many chavs will insure, afford and keep a car in this condition and spec. a 318is....with a set of halfords wheels and arches hanging in it then yes.

And yes i get what fox is saying,

Because they will re-occur unless the fault is fixed perhaps ? So if it has zero faults in what is a massively sensor reliant car since its last scan then it shows that the car is in tip-top condition, Maybe if your not familiar with a m3 evo you wont know that most have one or 2 sensors tripped every service. To find one with no faults tripped is doing quite well

Very nice. How long are you planning to keep this one for, 6 months? You seem to change cars often!

Well someone is coming in 2 weeks with good interest in taking it home :o And another was asking about it yesterday. But it will take a good offer to get me to sell,
