Well from doing a touch of research it would appear the Bulldozer is to fit in any AM3 board, well my question is this, if I bought a Bulldozer and fitted in to this board http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-147-MS&groupid=701&catid=1903&subcat=1481 along with my Sapphire HD 5830, would it be a worthy upgrade?

Your research is flawed I'm afraid.
Select 8-series boards will receive BIOS updates for AM3+ compatibility. Beyond that, only 9-series boards will be compatible with the first wave of Zambezi desktop CPUs.
If you're buying a new board, may as well go with the 9-series as they're still pretty cheap at entry level, but we don't have the CPUs yet.

Didn't MSI give that board the go ahead for AM3+?
They've put it on the list to be compatible, but there's no BIOS yet. I'm surprised as it's a 7-series board. Good spot.
