Here is an interesting one, I am useless when it comes to fixing/diagnosing problems with PC's. Good job we have a fantastic team who can do it well and professionally here at Overclockers UK.

But instead of me wasting their time first, I was hoping you guys could help me, and will leave my colleagues to the last resort if it does not get fixed tonight. :)

My spec:

Intel Core i3 2.93GHz @ 4.40GHz
Asus P7P55D-E Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard
Corsair XMS3 (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel
Corsair H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler
XFX ATI Radeon HD 5830 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card
Corsair HX 650W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply
Intel X25-M Mainstream 80GB 2.5" SATA-II Solid State Hard Drive
Western Digital Caviar Black 640GB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache
LG CH10LS20 10x BluRay-ROM / 16x DVD±RW Drive

I have just changed over my graphic card to a 560 and my memory to a 8GB kit.

Done that, turn on PC, case fans spin, CPU fan and graphics card fan spins, no display to monitor and no optical light on mouse and no lights on the keyboard.

I went back to the start and put the original memory and graphics card in and still having the same problem? :(

I have removed the memory and CMOS left it a few minutes and pressed the power switch and then put the memory and battery back in and still having the same issue.

Any ideas what it could be, might be something very noobish or maybe something went dead in the process? Not entirely sure.

Thought I would ask you guys this morning and I appreciate any help. :)

Feels ironic that a member of OcUK is asking for technical advice. Good job I don't work in the technical department huh? :p

Made sure you plugged all cables back in and they're in -properly-? :p

Especially the 24pin and 4+4/8pin? Power for mouse keyboard etc comes from the motherboard after all :p (Unless you have a G19)

Common errors :D

I believe so, I plugged in the graphic card 2x6 pin connectors which is the only cable I unplugged. Although I did pull the wire and it may have come unplugged on the other end possibly? I haven't checked the back panel where the wiring is yet.

I did have a similar issue once, turns out PSU went pop.

Although can't see it being that, you have more than enough watts/amps.

Worth checking, but did you also check you hadn't accidentally pulled one of the mobo connectors out? :p

Memory in the correct slots, some boards require them to be in 2nd & 4th slots from the cpu and double check all electrical connections on the motherboard.

Before I changed the memory and graphics card I did use compressed air and gave the inside of the case a good blow, but that wouldn't have done anything would it?

The thing is the lights on the motherboard light up, and fans spin, just no output power to mouse/keyboard or picture on the monitor. :(

I always preferred bridging the clear CMOS pins on the board rather than remove the battery, try this with only one memory module installed.

Edit: How good a blow, you may of blown a component off!

Edit 2: The Clear CMOS pins is just above the terminals for the panel. labled: CLRTC

Done that, no luck. :(

Did you flash to the latest motherboard BIOS? Might just be the GTX560 isn't being recognised. Had a similar problem with my GTX470.

Nope, this could be the issue, but not sure.

Do you have any other systems you can test the components on?

Might need to wait until work tomorrow and test each part.

Nope not at hand, may have to just take it into work tomorrow and see what the problem is. I might have a sneaky upgrade to a 2600k and a Z68 motherboard if I have some spare cash *checks bank balance now*:p

When I come across what was causing the problem shall mention it here. :)

Fault finding is always a pain, I had issues with my i7 setup 2 years ago and this turned out to be the Second set of OCZ was faulty!

The system still failed to boot with the old gpu in as well?

Are you sure this was not a ploy to upgrade!! :D

Yeah I have put it together as it was before I took the side panel off, and still having the same issues which is the main frustrating thing.

I think I nice Z68 and 2600k processor should go nicely with the current upgrade. :p

Thank you for your help though, much appreciated, will find out what it is tomorrow I am sure. :)

No probs, let us know what the outcome is :)

I am still going through my mind what the issue could be :(

Will do, going to go for the full upgrade tomorrow while it is happening and will have to sell the second hand parts on the MM. :)
