Fairly Large reseller gone bust, be wary!

Must be difficult for retailers whose main market is people who build their own PCs. There really aren't that many of us that still build our own machines. Think about how many businesses buy pre-builts, and most home users will now buy a laptop or a pre-built desktop.

I was reading about this recently in one of the papers, Smart phones and Ipads/Tablets have really impacted the business and they expect it to continue to hit sellers hard.

If and when I get a tablet the only time I will ever turn on my pc is to photo edit. This is the longest period I've gone without upgrade since I started building and I can't see me rebuilding for another 18 months-2 years unless something breaks.

Well presumably it will be recovered by the people they owe money to and it may end up in the channel but I doubt at reduced prices. Exciting times if you want cheap stuff though as it could happen, also you guys know about the Acer situation right? Acer wrote off millions in stock which is also going to get pushed into the channel at rock bottom prices.

dammit, it's my "local" :(

*edit*

yup, forums closed, and their card machines weren't working today.

Really is a shame - the closure of any independent PC store is a bad thing.
