Are shops Allowed to sell returned goods as new?

I only bought in 40mins ago, so I hope they don't think I have damaged it lol!

It was sold as new, was not on special offer or anything.

sold as new = new imo take it back!

its been used even if only for a short period = i expect a discount..

like when i went to currys to buy a camcorder they had non instock of the colour i wanted apart from the display model , i got a fat 20% discount and 2 years later the camera is still working fine
 
Got an exchange an a £1 yes £1 Argos voucher :D I blew the voucher straight away :(

Bought a food processor from Argos a few years ago, got it home to find it used and dirty. Took it back not happy. Bought a toasted sandwich maker last year which when we opened was covered in grease and mold. Took it back, it took them till the third attempt before they managed to send one down that hadn’t been used.
