What sort of FPS are you guys getting on BC2 these days? Swear I used to get 60+ maxxed out but now struggling to get 30 fps!

i7 920 @ 3.8ghz
6gb 1600mhz OCZ Ram
Ati 5850 @ 850/1150

Running at 1920x1080, high settings, HBAO off, AA 2x, AF 4x.

I used to run 1680x1050, high setting, AA 8x, AF 16x!

At those settings with your hardware with HBAO off, you should be able to max the AF and AA...

I play with HBAO on with my rig all settings maxed.
 
I thought I should be able to run it maxxed as 1680x1050 to 1920x1080 isn't a huge jump but I'm losing around 50% FPS.

Would an out of date punk buster really cause that much of an issue?

Perhaps a 2gb card is more suited to this resolution, I'll have a play tomorrow and see what I can do.
 
I have a 5870 1GB and play @ 1920x1080.
My fps on a full server from 60-80 pretty much all the time unless there is smoke then that drops really bad :(

But I turned that HBAO off as for the fps you lose it is not worth it.

So instead max everything else even max AA :D

Maybe double check any overclock settings just incase?

Running it at 1920x1200, 8x msaa, 16x af, all on high, v-sync and hbao off, 90+ fps, dx11, gpu's at 750/1500/1674. Memory usage in game maxes at 970mb ono. Ive also tried it with 32x aa with little impact on performance.
 
Maybe I have an issue somewhere in my system and I've not realised it until now, check this thread out showing the issues I had/still have with Dirt 2.

All of you seem to be having much better luck with FPS than me and my system is fairly equal to the others posted in here.

Can anyone give me a hand as to where to look to start diagnosing the issue/issues?
 
Hey peeps, just wanted to ask about something in the game, one of the addons for the sniper rifle, I read the description, it sounds as if it will somehow indicate to you where other snipers are? Cant someone explain that addon to me coz I tried it but didnt notice anything?

Also another question I have, can admins that own servers disable certain weapons, just wondered out of cursorily because I kinda hate getting snipered sometimes and I'd love to play on a server where sniper rifles are disabled.

The sniper spotter scope ability automatically spots enemies placed in your reticle within a certain distance. this means you don't have to press the Q button every time.

Are you running Skype in the background? It has a setting that auto adjusts volume that u can turn off. If not, don't know sorry.
 
i have real trouble hitting anything with the sv98. been trying to plat the snipers one by one and i struggle big time with the cross-heir on this

Dont use any scope on that gun or the M24, GOL

Just use lightweight and magnum ammo and quick scope / no scope - takes a bit of practice but once you get used to it you'll love it!!!

Also dont forget about the M95, awsome dun to use in SQDM, just equip x4 scope (no bullet drop) and magnum ammo - very effective

Nope, dont have skype installed. Seen a few issues were xbox users had the same problem, they were running war tapes in the sound settings. The reccomendation was to try a different setting before reverting back to war tapes.
