Oh yeah, Sorry bout that!
Haha, not a problem.

It's not random though, it was conducted on the phone in Brighton. Now i would not consider the type of people who answer cold callers and actually continue to talk to them a random sample. Also Brighton voted in a Green MP so is more likely to be of a liberal nature. There sample is probably as random as ours. Being into computers should not have any factor over whether you agree with assisted suicide or not.
Indeed, but that instance of Child abuse was allowed to happen and be covered up by a massive organisation that has the support and financial backing of all its non child abusing members.
Are you trying to say all the congregation knew about. You completely fail at logic.
It's like saying all parents and PTA are responsible for teachers.
Nope
PS hurfdurf the mod... Best of luck...
He gets my vote. How do we make it happen?
They are lending their support to notion that a God/Deity/Sky Wizard/Supernatural being exists with zero evidence.
hurfdurf said:This lends credibility to organised religion as a whole, in which power bases exist, some of whom use their power for immense evil.
hurfdurf said:This is ignoring the absurdity of believing in one particular God/Deity/Sky Wizard/Supernatural being against all others not based on evidence, but on cultural norms and up bringing. If Allah why not Jesus or Zeus or Buddha or Yahweh or flying Spaghetti Monster.
hurfdurf said:This shows a lack of logic and critical thinking and presents a source of ethics not based on what solely is good for humanity, but what is good for the fictional God/Deity/Sky Wizard/Supernatural being.
We're going way off the rails with this thread, let's reign it in a bit.
As far as I am aware, and what it boils down to, the only reason there is a law against suicide is because of religion, it's against the will of god.
It hasn't been illegal to commit (or attempt to commit) suicide in the UK for 50 years. It is however illegal to assist someone to commit suicide.
