Why are people moaning so much about this? Does the DLC cost money? No, all it is is a pre-order incentive....

And when on when will they do proper scopes!!!! (zoomed in just on the scope, rest of the screen unzoomed) if Red Orchestra can do it, why cant they! :p

I think that photo you linked is a fake. It is exactly the same as the vid I posted but there are no stupid triangles (one of them is even squint).

This is simply not the case. Crank it up to 1080p and do frame by frame. You see the triangle appear in the 0:17th second. Took no effort at all to see it first try.

Also, for all those that are complaining about 3D spotting, it can be disabled by playing "hardcore" mode in BC2 so why shouldn't it be the same in BF3?

I personally only play hardcore mode because I get annoyed with any amount of bullet sponging.

Sorry, yeah spotted it.

I don't play hardcore because the camping scum sit at the back with VSS's all day long, and the best bit for them is that I have reduced health.

Why shouldn't they compete with Steam?

I'm not contesting their right to compete, but I'm willing to put my neck out and say that there is probably a significant amount of people who would preorder right now if it popped up on Steam. That's money in pocket for EA. Clearly, given the choice of either £29 + PWP, or £39 and DD, I'll be choosing Game and then adding to steam, so they're losing a slice of the pie to Game anyway. I'm sure they'll get plenty of sales on Origin, and they'll make more margin off of it, but wouldn't they rather increase their volume by putting it on Steam where it can get daily advertising to the millions of gamers that use it every day? It doesn't make sense to me.

Email from game:

As you may already be aware, the UK release date for Battlefield 3 Limited Edition: Physical Warfare Pack has changed to 28-Oct-2011. Changes to release dates are relatively common in the videogames industry and are unfortunately beyond our control.

Don't worry, your order is still live and will be despatched prior to its release date via your chosen method of delivery.

wtf ? :(

I don't really see anything too wrong with the spotting mechanic.

Its there to simulate you saying to your team, "look theres an enemy over there in that bush" Its hard to get across in a game which bush they are in exactly, so being able to "highlight" them to the team is only like pointing at them in real life and saying "they are over there, shoot there"

Why not Raven? I dont think its a bad feature, and I have personally only played about 1h of non hardcore bc2, and Ill be the same with BF3.
But I think it should work more like it does in ARMA, where the spotted enemy will be highlighted with a marker, but then if that enemy moves behind cover, the marker tracks his approximate position based on the speed they were running at, but not 100% where they are... if that makes sense? Difficult to explain but if you've played ARMA you'll know what I mean :)

Except it's so buggy.
I have played a lot of BC2, and I usually just spam Q when running around till a triangle lights up. Takes the fun out of the game. Might as well make it Quake3 and glow bright green.
Levels where your view is heavily obscured by trees or rocks, you just hover your mouse in that direction and catch a wookie or an assault medic.
