police will not investage facebook?

hi

to cut a long story short

my brother got some death threat via PM through facebook from a man that has just been released from prison this week for robbing houses

brother went to the police just incase this guy wasn't messing around

and the upshot of it is they said they will not investage it as it was done through facebook

if it was a SMS They said they would have done something...

this doesn't sound right to me?

can someone advise

sounds ridiculous a threat is a threat the means in which it is conveyed should not be a determining factor in wether or not the pilce are prepared to investigate

nothing he was wronly accused of something

the case has since been ended due to no proof..
this man is a family member of the other party

at the very least it should be logged at the police station ? so if something does happens...
your brother should prepare for an asskicking as its almost certainly going to come his way.

Tell him to make a really annoying song about Thursday or any other day apart from Friday as that ones taken, then the police will look into it.

Seriously though a death threat is a death threat be it through face to face or electronic communications which facebook messages would fall under. Tell the police to get off their ass, although surely if this is from someone released from prison this week it would be an excuse to revoke his release license straight away?

we are not to bothered about it really it can be handled...

but i dont think the police should be ignoring death threat no matter what the circumstances

i will still happily grass someone up if they comit a crime and myself or someone i care about is the victim

we are not to bothered about it really it can be handled...

you dont need to worry then, get the boys together go around this guys house and tell him nothing is going to happen to you or any of your family members.

he will leave you alone, i know the type ive been friends with those types of people they wont do a damn thing unless they think there will be no comeback

haha everybody jumping to conclusions as usual. we need the full story before making a decision. what was your brother nicked for? how does he know your brother? what was the actual threat? is his facebook private or open? is he a friend on facebook?

Well said, the grass thing is annoying. Society would be so much better if people didn't think being a grass was a bad thing.

So it's not even a random threat, I would go back and possibly even look into police complaints commission. That's pretty disgusting, especially as the man has a reason and is known.

i understand all this

but the police should still be doing their job regardless

no ones untouchable ..if they wanted to hurt him they could do it once dark night etc
