Hoverbike. So much want!

Much like a helicopter has blades that can turn to push air back as well as down, this will just be done by moving your body weight forward i imagine

I see.

I imagine that distributing your weight towards the front would propel you forward? I.e. point the nose down so the fans push air at a downward/backward angle.

I see.

Tilting the whole vehicle forward to push air backwards so you move forward?

I see.

You.. leaning forward at a guess Sonea

I may have had a few beers but I get the picture guys and am spotting a trend in posts here :p

Build a shoot into a jacket thing (you're going to need something on, as it'd be cold) and who the hell cares (apart from your wallet and the person it falls on) if it fails in mid air? I'd be sooo trying that thing out :p

It's going to need some mad electronics and gps to keep that thing steady roll should be covered by the gyro effect, but pitch and height will need to be closely monitored and controlled. Perhaps gps for when you fancy going to the clouds, and lasers for when you want to follow roads. Probably gps to keep both rotors at the same height as each other too, or just a simple motion switch. Definitely doable.

Thanks for that - why are you sat on a forum when you should be out putting the design team straight? :p

brb, off to attach two desk fans to my bike

:D

I'd ride one, but only with a parachute strapped to my back.

It seems a bit dodgy to me how he has no videos of it flying, not even a clip on a mobile phone camera, and now there's some excuse where he needs to rebuild the gearbox.

I'll believe this works as well as he says it does when I see it with my own eyes.

10,000ft ceiling with two small fans? >170mph top speed? It all seems dubious to me.

I'm fairly sure it would be illegal anyway and I'm completely sure it would be insanely dangerous. But it looks like fun.
