Well, on the plus side gpu acceleration in vlc is fixed in 11.6

Just installed these, I hope they fix the light problems in the witcher 2 and pos increase performance slightly on ati 6970

Just tried them and it does indeed sort the lighting issue. TW2 is running super smooth in xfire for me know with lovely vsync on.

Is it a simple case of uninstalling the old Ati drivers, reboot pc, them istall new drivers?

I've never had a problem just installing over them.

Nope, it's a simple case of installing these new drivers straight on top of the old ones. Thats what they were designed to do.

I don't even visit the webpage. Just click onto the AMD Vision Engine, click software update and it does it all. Or get Steam to do it.

I have no xfire with these 11.6 drivers not even a xfire option in the CCC.

Running a 6990 + 6970 in trifire.

Tried the leaked version and now the ones on official site and get the same problem so gone back to 11.5 B

Not according to AMD, they always advise uninstalling previous drivers first.

Especially if you're using beta releases.

AMD know that people install them on top - so they're hardly gonna screw you over for doing it - they'd lose most of their customers.

Then why do they allow their own software and steam to update the drivers?

There isn't even a warning message when you start the installation to uninstall previous drivers first.

This is bad really bad for me, I'm currently in safe mode because this new driver update is causing my pc to restart soon as the windows loading logo has finished loading. Might as well revert back *sigh*

It is best not to install over the top of Beta drivers.

It changed nothing for me, I get the same bench results with 11.5 and 11.6

Well 11.6 did not fix atikmdag.sys BSOD's that were present in 11.5b as well. Have reverted to 10.11

I hope all you people who are having issues are running your GPU at stock clocks to take that aspect out of the equation as different drivers can effect the GPU OC headroom.
