Golden Orb Weaver

they are everywhere in oz , literally you can walk on the sidewalk in brisbane and chances are in 5 minutes you will see about 20 of the ****ers.

We get them in the Vineyards, I counted 28 on the tractor bonnet alone! :eek:

Pretty harmless though, The other vineyard hand got bitten by one and just said it made him itchy around the bite.

The webs are weird looking 3d things too

The tank is an Exo Terra Glass Terrarium 90x45x45cm Link

For substrate I use Zoo Med Eco Earth Coconut Fibre mixed with peat moss (Helps to hold moisture)

I use one heat mat taped to the side, I like to give her a warm end of the tank and a cool end. She seems to regulate her own temperature. The tank is kept between 75f and 80f

I picked up the fake plants (also exo terra) from a pet shop near me that stocks exotics.

Nope, my girlfriend goes into shock when she notices a spider in the house...but she has a pet tarantula

Not really, she has always been scared of spiders. She then started a new job where she HAS to have a tarantula...The tarantula is nothing like a normal house spider as it is slower
