Hey,

I have a soundcard already, Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Pro Series PCI Express Sound Card.

I'm getting the Crosshair V Forumula and it comes with the "Thunderbolt" card that has audio and a LAN chip installed into one.

Is it worth me selling my sound card to replace it with the Thunderbolt (Audio and LAN card) from Asus?

I don't have a clue how to compare sound.

Thanks for your time,

Hatton

Not seen any mention of the the thunderbolt card with the Crosshair V only seen it on the X58 Black mobo. As far as im aware its just onboard sound with the Crosshair V.

Hmm I need to know if it is better or not, I don't want to use the wrong card for the only PCIEx1 slot on the board.

I'd assume not.
Most of these "daughterboard" sound chips are nothing more than a rebadged X-Fi Xtreme Audio with fancy software, which is itself a rebadged Audigy SE from 10 years or so ago.

Ok, i'll take your word for it :) Sticking with my sound card although it doesn't have the LAN feature which I thought was pretty nifty. :(

You only get the Thunderbolt add-in card if you bought the CHV Thunderbolt package - which I believe hasn't been released yet.....
