Guess my insurance quote

I might be confused, is this your first year insuring the car? From your post im assuming you have had it longer than that?

So surely your price would be circa what you have been paying?

OR is it now different because you have put some new bits on it?

To play along ill say 1400, as for me a Cayman S with 5yr NCB at 32 would be 1k.

It was 289bhp decleared before and since then was taken off road and new engine in so totaly different spec. I paid roughly £680 ish I think at 289bhp with roughly same mods bar engine

I'm going for £1100.

What's the deal with the two different maps that you run? Is it done by a switch or do you have to hook up a laptop? Are there any ill affects from you running the lower powered one?

Joshy - Your not the Joshy that has a 205 are you? Im Bikerz (Georges mate if you do). If you are then you know all the details probally. If not then -

1. I run a Manual boost controller (Im researching into dissadvantages and addvantages of electric ones) and have a manual override switch for water meth injection where by I turn it off when I turn the boost down.
2. I run DTA management and have 2 or 3 files on that that are selectable via a USB cable.

Both wont damage the engine in any way at all. I track the car a lot so this is a reason along with 550+ bhp on the road isnt needed (and I ont fancy the insurance for it either)

Nope for the road. Me and my best mate share a trailor, but his is a full blown track car and not road legal and we tend to do track days together so I like to keep mine road legal (ish) and do a bit of possing on hot sunny weekends.

I havent built up enough courage yet, lol. The car isnt finished, was planning on building it and seeing what she makes at say 1.6 bar of boost and saying its that and run that on the road, then 2 bar on the tracks. I really should do a quote but just havent yet. I havent got the time to do so till monday either now.

I thought id mis read the OP at first... kept trying to work out who the her was that you were trying to get insurance for >.>
