OCuK Detectives help me.

Someone tried logging into my account today and Ocuk sent me the ip address it was used on.

Ip : 81.178.156.134

I know he/she is from Leicester and are using tiscali. but nothing else.

Would quite like to know who has been trying to get in. if i know them or not or what.

There is next to no chance you're going to be able to find out unless you go through the ISP.

And even then I would imagine you'd need a court order.

You should ask the mods if the I.P matches another members.

Could be a simple error by "infernox1" for example and he missed the 1 off so would register as an attempt?

I myself (not on here) have made this mistake I tried about ten times to log in on another site with username "Greebo99" and thought I was just getting the password wrong when my username was really "Greebo999"

I suggest just to be on the safe side you should change your password.

Just scanned my pc, absolutely nothing.

I wouldn't have thought a key logger anyway, as it wouldn't have been failed attempts anyway.

Will change my password though. Cheers thundy.

how did you get to no about this failed attempt? what alerted ocuk to email you? surely people get logon info wrong?

Indeed...Was it OcUK who informed you then? I log in to this account in about 5 different IPs...Why have I had no email?

You will get an automated email after 5 failed log in attempts in a row.

Standard practise I believe with Vbullletin.

just claim your from davenport lyons and want the ip for filesharing.

ISPs have been handing them customer details by the thousand without court order.
