Seeing as we are having so many strange pet threads, here's mine.

She is a 5 year old female Royal Python called Marmite. She is touching 5ft and is fed on large rats.

Being 5ft wouldn't she need to be fed something bigger than rats? Or just fed them more frequently?

In my mind a snake that big could consume a medium sized dog quite easy...

She's beautiful though :D

It's actually extra large rats. They're very big. Once when I couldn't get one, I fed her a baby rabbit. That was a bit bigger, but she managed it OK.

I'll ignore the other 2 who are for some reason dragging an argument on another thread into this one. Extremely childish.

I let her out for about 2 hours a week. Pythons are very sedentary animals and sometimes wont move for over 3-4 days. Particularly after feeding.

Thats a beautiful Royal! My lass just bought her first snake, a beautiful vivid coloured corn snake. Personally, I wanted the ruby eyed lavender banded king snake. Still tempted to go back and buy it!

I like the banded king snake. Need to give a young one attention though as they need regular handling to calm them down. Can be a bit nippy as babies.

Yup, The Reptile Hotel where I buy my stuff from has 2 there (1 ruby eyed, the other not) one of them wanted to bite so they left it in its tub. The other was pretty docile. They eat other snakes as well, so you got to make sure you wash hands before handling! My flat is turning into a reptile house :D. I have 2 beardies and a Leopard Gecko here as well. Want more Leos, cool little lizards. Want Ackies as well, but have no room :(

Oh that's a royal, and here's me thinking she's a regular boa.

Always wanted a royal, they have a reduced pattern one that's brown/white in a local pet store.

Trouble is i have two parrots so i think it's a no go.

Are they escape artists?
