I have a plan...... will it work?

Average age of a iPhone user is over 30. Average age of a BB owner is almost 10 years younger.

My mum has an iphone, this is someone who is so technologically inept that she still cant save a file onto a usb stick on a pc or mac, after being shown about 50 times, I **** you not....

Simplicity is all well and good until you start missing out on features because of it, and you undoubtedly will.

I have a new imac and a killer pc at home, and I have to say I prefer the pc as I just dont find it difficult to use in the slightest, so I dont really want to miss out on functionality and use the mac.

I have owned both an iphone and an android, and in my opinion if you have a brain and dont mind not being a sheep, you will be pleasantly suprised by an android phone. I dont understand why people will only ever buy iphones and not try anything else. I was a massive iphone fan, tried something else and it won me over, dont shut out potentially better phones, especially when they are effectively half price.

Sorry to ruin the thread, but I think the OP has it sorted and this is my 100th post so 'watevs'. Lol

What hugely important features (to the general public, not the nerd market) is the iPhone missing?

It has a superb camera, makes calls well, has a good screen, fantastic app store covering everything, great media integration with iTunes...?

I don't know many 16 year old girls with iPhones to be honest, at least not iPhone 4's.

Flash. Must admit screen is good.

In most cases, as smart-phones are app-centric, flash is an irrelevance. If the app does what is requested, flash does not matter.

However if browsing websites, i could see the 'possible' need for Flash. However, i tend to use specific apps to 'consume' news articles etc.

Its still a fairly big flaw, but not as bad as the ipad (seriously it still doesn't have flash?)
The fact that it costs £45 a month, on a pretty bad tariff, for 2 years is probably the biggest drawback. For half of that, your paying £45 a month for last years technology which is crazy in my opinion.
Considering you can get a galaxy s2 for £21 a month, do you really think an iphone 4 is twice as good?
I'll hand it to the iphone on two fronts, the fact that its an ipod and its screen (which does have some disadvantages compared to super amoled plus). Paying over a grand in a 2 year period for what could be called an ipod touch with added phone capabilities is insane.

Galaxy s2 (£21 p/m) and ipod touch (£150??) best of both worlds. iphones look good, but they dont look £45 a month good, and thats pretty much what your paying for, ooh and the 'uniqueness' which comes as standard :D

I understand that it would have been cheaper to buy one outright but I simply don't have the cash to do that atm.. (Just bought a house, Paying for a holiday, Too many Birthdays/stupid calendar events like Fathers Day..)

The reason it was so badly needed was because of the signal we were getting on o2.. I'm talking 1 bar to searching all the time indoors.. and even at work my gf struggles to get a signal.. and all my texts to her are delayed etc.. its just been a constant battle to get something to work that we're paying for..

So I waited for the contracts to run out and had to make a decision.. went with Voda after checking the location of masts and signal strength around the area we live and the area we work. In fairness it has worked as she has had a good strength signal and 3G connection all day :)

The reason I went for an iPhone was....... I like them :o

Just personal preference.. nothing more :)

I'm just gonna wait it out.. I've got other things to think about now.. my gf is sorted which was my main concern :)

None..

However.. I have played with an HD7, Sammy Galaxy S and S2, a couple of Blackberry handsets..

Only for about 30 mins each..

The closest thing to an iPhone in terms of usability imo is a WP7 handset.. the HD7 is really nice.. but I'm used to an iphone and just wanted one that would work lol
