Due to the card's custom PCB, if I decide to go SLi in the future would I need to do so with another SE, or would a stock card work?

There is no issue SLi between 480's with different PCB's. The clocks however need to be the same on both cards.

The top card hangs onto the bottom card sometimes and you hear them scraping until it becomes too loud. I have cable tied the top card so the custom fan doesn't brush the card underneath. Also don't put an SE in your top slot it will go over 105 degrees. Put a stock 480 at the top because it won't go above 95 degrees and use the SE at the bottom and it'll stick to about 80 degrees.

You can use some plastic between the cards.

You could also space the cards out more or liquid cool them?

They are not spacable without dropping to x4 pcie I tried it and lost a lot of fps plus my hx1000w went kerBOOM the minute I powered back down lol possibly unrelated.
Don't know why they have to have a curved fan front it makes it tough to sli them without extra effort.
