Hey All,

I got this fish tank a while ago, letting it bio cycle before the fish go in.

It is a Fluvel Edge. Im not normally the fish pet sort of person, but this tank looks awesome and getting a few neon fish and 5 shrimp to beaver around the ground xD

Getting the marine life tomorrow.

The tank is a glass block with a small opening at the top, so it looks like a block of water.

Pics of the tank:

I will update this post with fishy photos tomorrow :)

=============UPDATE===============

Right, I have gone and got some fish, I have only purchased 5 so far as so the biological cycle doesn't go haywire.

This is what I got today:

1 Siamese Fighting Fish

Looks amazing! It looks like there isn't any water in there! (there is water right?)

Yea, there is water in it :)

make sure you seed your bacteria colony by putting a bit of filter material from a friends tank in your filter.

I have been seeding it with bacteria, but none from a mates tank or anything.

How does that work, will you not have a problem with poor oxygenation of the water and also crap collecting at the top?

As post above said, it does have a filter that hangs on the side of the tank and hidden by the mesh/black box on top. If debris collect on top, I use a magnetic cleaner to sweep it into the opening and it get filtered quickly, or pick it out if it is a big piece.

Glad you all like it :) Going to get fish in a few hours :)

I would be very interested to see what it looks like after a few months with fish in it.

Ill post a photo in a few months. The garden centre (Endsleigh) where I got it from has had one on display for quite a few months, there is some algae on the sides but that is about it. I doubt they take much care of it tbh.

Ill have some busy side feeder working on the algae, and squid for the bottom xD

I have one of these tanks myself... (Seen Here)

Betta is doing much better now, thankfully!

I do find the Edge hard to keep pristine clean, which really annoys me.

I do like those Fluvel Edge tanks, very modern looking

I only keep marine fish though (personally I think they're much nicer looking than your box standard Tropical fish) so not really a tank suitable for my needs

Nice purchase nonetheless though, look forward to seeing what fish you put in it :)
