Invasion (tv series)

Did anyone else watch this when it was out? Was just thinking about how awesome it was. Really great. Gutted when it was only one season. It had great characters and a genuinely interesting alien invasion storyline. I recommend you check it out even though it's just one season.

Invasion is an American science fiction television series that aired on ABC for only one season beginning in September 2005. Somewhat similar to Invasion of the Body Snatchers, the show told the story of the aftermath of a hurricane in which water-based creatures infiltrate a small Florida town and begin to take over the bodies of the town's inhabitants through a cloning process (first by merging with and then unknowingly replacing them). The show was produced by Shaun Cassidy Productions and Warner Bros. Television.

I half watched. One episode it looked pretty good but was already part way through the series. Has it got an ending or was it canned? Fed up off watching series with no ending. Stupid money trapping producers. Do the general idea and make it a set number of series and get the finance.

I so want to watch a good alien invasion film tonight, but for the life of me can't think of any other than Independence day. Which I've seen to many times.

But, yeah, Invasion does have an ending of sorts...but leaves you wanting so much more. I'd watch it again even knowing that it has been canned.

I loved this show when it first aired, it was very slow moving, and the whole is he/isnt he thing with William finchtner was very good. Sad that it got canned after one season.

It is very slow (but probably not as slow as Lost

).
Such a shame at the end though, it was really beginning to get into its stride.

I really enjoyed it, but if I remember rightly was it not on the same time as lost? and thus lost out to lost? One of these days I am going to have to order the boxset.

Great show but like all great shows these days, (FlashForward, Lie to Me etc) all get cancelled when crap manage to get the green light for another season after another.

I am sick of watching a new show only to hear its got cancelled. Gone are the days when you got shows that lasted years i.e. Smallville (10 Seasons) The Wire (5 Seasons) 24 (8 Seasons) etc

I know what you mean. I'm looking forward to "Falling Skies".

Personally, I quite liked Invasion but it was too slow to survive.
