Hey guys, my GPU has gone bust. I'll be buying a complete new build in a few months so I just need something to tide me over for a while thats capable of running WoW on low settings and other low end things.

Any suggestions for a temporary card? Or can anyone think of a better solution? I can't buy my new GPU early as my current PSU won't support it and i'd ideally like to get everything at once. Thanks :)

From the Nvidia camp, I would say a 2nd hand 8800 GTX or maybe (if power is an issue) a 8800 GT / 9800 GT

It occasionally happens that a gtx260 comes up for £50-£55 shipped but you'll need to buy it quick when it appears on ebay because they are most often £60-£75 shipped. This represents a FPS boost over the 8800 series of 20-25%

I would deffinatly agree with the choice or nVidia 8800 series. They have been the most reliant and well built. It seemed, for a time, the 8800 series was unbeatable even against newer series. I have had two of these for almost six years with no hassle and MASSIVE OC ability: Only issues with these cards is the heat and noise. Though a simple cooler, five to ten pounds, can dramatically increase the performance and cooling whilst eliminating the noise.
