My Pet Birdeating Spider

They dont need cleaning :p

Only time you ever have to get it out, is to move it to a bigger house when it grows.

The do not benifit at all from being held, you are only running the risk of being bitten and / or dropping the spider, which even a few inches can kill them, so is in no way even worth it
oh so you dont need to clean out poop or bones? they dont make webs?

Some make webs yes, but why go and clean it up, thats it house :p

As for poop, you can just put some woodlice / springtails in their substrate and they will clean for you :)

Only thing you have to clean is if you get an Avicularia or similar, they can spray poop which, if on glass, doesnt look too nice to needs a quick wipe, apart form that, thats it ^_^

They probably would eat a house spider but I doubt they have much nutritional value, and I wouldn't really want to feed my pet something that could be carrying toxins/parasites.

Crickets are only £2 a tub, same price for locusts.

It's not because i'm a cheapskate (well, I am!) - it's mainly because I want revenge one that bitch who gave birth to about 50 little spiders while I was on holiday. I always see that spider but it's too damn fast to catch/burn with fire!

How cute and cuddly, don't you just want to give that a hug?

errrmmm, *thinks about it* NO!

I noticed crickets vision is based on changes in light levels. If I approach their tank with the light behind me they run away. And she wasn't moving

There was a bi where she moved, cricket turned round and then jsu did nothing.

Can you give us a vid of it eating something that's a bit more lively/scared. pweeeaaassee???

if you want to see a mouse terrified trying to escape from a goliath spider just check youtube....

dont see what so great about watching that sort of crap , yes i know its natural but its not natural when you stick a mouse inside a tank for your own pleasure.

people like that should be stuck in a zoo enclosure with a tiger or something similar

Agree with the above post, you wouldn't drop a kitten into a cage with a Crocodile, so why do the same with a mouse and a spider or whatever. Just cruel tbh.

I doubt many people over here would be feeding live mice etc...Only reason people should even consider it is when all other options have been tried and you just have a generally picky Snake / Spider

A friend of my dad has a snake that will only eat Hamsters... no joke. :(

So, they don't have have to be live, or has he not tried that?

What has he tried? Defreezing hours before the feed? Dicing up the mouse? Heating the mouse? Taking the snake for a drive before the feed? There are all sorts of things you can try :p

They have to be live, it won't go for them if they aren't moving.

I'll tell him he should put it in a car seat and take it for a drive... :D
