My dogs been injured :(

The same thing happened to my parents old dog, except it got stuck, he was at the vets for quite some time. I hope that he is better soon!

Well they know they arent allowed sticks and he plicked this one up on the fly and it has made a mess of him the poor lad, he is up and about now and just had some heart to eat with a massive antibiotic, which he managed to eat no problem, he seems to be struggling drinking though as when he extends his tongue i think it really hurts him :(

maybe a bit strange but is it possible to pour some water into his mouth/use a bottle or something sop he doesn't ahve to lap it up?

And I've never heard of a dog getting an infection by just picking up a stick, rebel, especially considering the things they snick and lick when out and about....

When I first got him, I was warned by the vet not to let him carry sticks, its because of infections they could pick up from splinters.

Sorry to hear this & the reason I don't let my Frank staffy dog have sticks. Hope he gets well soon. :)

bloody hell thats a hard lesson to learn, hope he gets well soon

mine grabs every stick he sees of all sizes and jumps about all over the place trying to kill it for some reasons ( rather daft Black Lab ) , i'll be much quicker to get them off him in future.

Not daft at all, i get him to come to the tap outside in the back garden and turn it on, he just opens his mouth and lets it trickle down his throat, at least i know he getting water now too :)
