I'll be happy if they actually manage to release the game and at some point during the first year of release the game works and is fit for purpose, because BFBC2 certainly isnt.

As it stands at the moment BFBC2 still has very very poor netcode, the game is still very unstable, poorly optimized and still has unbalanced weapons.

Well said Barmy

Not really, it's a fantastic game - can't say I have a problem with any of that! Few crazy bugs on release but it's all good these days.

Even managed to jump over the top of a RPG today, shot him in the face as he pressed fire, tapped jump and the rocket went beneath me :D

Smooth as silk on high + some AA/AF on 53xx*1050, <3 eyefinity BC2!

I didn't say it was a bad game.

I have a very capable PC (i7 920, 6GB RAM, GTX 470) and a 50MB fibre optic internet connection.

My experience of game has been mostly ok.

But, on many occasions the game has lost my rank, logged me in and updated my stats, let me use the server browser, let me join a game, let me choose a squad and class. Only to kick me from the game saying there's no connection! Then update my stats, let me use the server browser, join the same server and play the game.

On max settings I average well over 60 FPS, yet still the game can either look and feel laggy or drop down to 30 FPS in low intensity areas.

There are also many occasions when the game simply does not register hits at all, which can make it a very frustrating game to play.

An awful lot of these problems are carried over from previous Battlefield games and have never been fully addressed.

Quite a difference in that vid between both platforms, pretty sensible comments from this guy.

I can see where Han is coming from. I think that’s the reason why most devs show console footage first so no one will get their hopes up. With DICE however they showed nothing but PC footage since the game’s announcement, so naturally many console players that the game would look somewhat close to what was displayed.

It was misleading on DICE’s part. They should have shown both PC & Console footage of BF3 from the beginning instead of waiting till now. Everyone knows on a graphical level, the PC is simply going to look better than a console. DICE is experiencing the backlash of showing the PC version first & then the console version later. It created the false illusion on how the game might have looked on console & failed some people’s expectations.

I’ve read many comments from PC gamers saying, “What did you expect?” Well I expect next time DICE should show both PC & Console footage from the get go, that way everyone will know how the game will look on their platform. With that said, BF3 looks great on console but just looks even more awesome on PC.

You cant expect an elderly platform like the ps3 to compete on the graphics front with a modern pc.

It is hardly DICE's fault if console gamers thought that their graphics would look like the ones put out by a 580.

It's probably taken this long for them to downscale BF3 to get it running well on the consoles, so they couldn't show console footage earlier :)

Lol, even a few dyed in the wool console owners i know have admitted that it doesnt look as good as the pc version. And some of theese guys swear blind by their xbox/ps3's. One mate of mine is actually considering moving over to pc. Ill have to try and "convert" a few more of them.:D

As much as I miss Pc gaming and the Pc version of this does look more pretty, it's a serious outlay for one game.
The console versions are close enough for 90% of gamers and will vastly outsell the Pc version.

Doesn't stop me being tempted though. Last big Pc outlay for me was my crysis build so I'm looking at a pretty serious upgrade, if I fold

Says who? Im pretty sure BC2 on pc outsold the console iterations. At the very least i recall a thread on the forums stating the pc had more players.

PC could well have outsold PS3 or 360 but not both together. A lot of people seem to lump the sales figures together and then use it to reason that PC gaming is dying when in most cases the share between the 3 platforms is about a third each.

See here http://bfbcs.com/ its pretty close the number of players owning the game (and thus appearing on the stats site) but every time I go on there are more PC gamers online.

Ok looks like Pc was highest single sale format, but overall console sales were quiet bait higher. There's a post from one of the producers on the official forums saying so but no numbers.

Colour me surprised, mind you they had some serious sales from steam sales when the game was very cheap, I know I bought it then.

I'd like to see revenue per format. That would be interesting

DICE associate producer Barrie Tingle has revealed that at the moment, during the week of the game's retail release sales of the PC version are superior to both consoles, and more people are playing the PC version of the game than both the 360 and PS3 editions combined.

During launch week though.

The post on the forum

btw: PC currently has more people playing and are in game servers than both the consoles.

Noticed on Kotaku that this post was taken the wrong way. The PC had more players than either console not more than both consoles combined. You'll need to work to beat both consoles combined effort
