I wanted a new car to last me for 5-7 years

Not knowing a lot about BMWs, will there be a point when you can't extend the BMW warranty any more? What is your plan to keep the car going that long?

I'm genuinely curious. I've spent way too much chopping and changing cars, and your plan may actually give me some insight into buying my next car 'properly'.

Congrats Fox, is she going on the rollers at the next RR :p

Jokes aside I'll have to get myself to the next meet as I'd like a passenger ride in one of these.

Nice one Fox! I know this won't have been an easy decision for you but congrats on finding a car. I hope it's the right one for you :)

Lovely Lovely car Fox, im sure your example will be just about as perfect as one can be.

Can i be cheeky and ask how you financed such an operation, are we talking savings, loan ????

This must easily be a £25k car.

It is nowhere near a 25k car, I would never spend that on a 3 series. My budget for the car was 20k max and I did not exceed this.

I think Fox has stated a few times how this was to be done. £20K max budget, half savings half competitive rate loan.

Enough of that though, where are the pictures Fox????? :D

Lol, I got the joke and yes, it's wayyyyy too serious and just a tad pedantic around here! Cars are serious business! There's no room for ambiguity around here...quite scary!

The problem is that the only contributions flukester makes here now consist of trolling, just because he got his pants pulled down buying a 2 year old Hyundai for the price of a brand new one. He's been butthurt ever since.

I know you are pretty thorough with your research so do you mind me asking who you arranged your loan through and perhaps rough terms of the agreement?

I have just bought a car and am looking for the best deal.

Sure - I eventually ended up splitting it 65/35 in favour of cash and got the dealer to undercut my bank. Following changes in the law in Feb you can now make partial over payments at any time with no extra charge so will probably clear that after Christmas.

It's a 2009 model year, hence the new idrive, but is actually a late 2008 car.

Updated rear light clusters too? Im very jealous of the CIC idrive. The actual controller itself is so much nicer. Im considering doing a retrofit for the controller as its an inexpensive but worthwhile upgrade.
