Hey all,

Me and four other friends have just booked a holiday in September to Bodrum, in Turkey.

Anyone else been? Any good places to recommend?

We have seven days, all inclusive at a four star hotel, flight included for about £610 each :)

Bodrum - the **** hole of Turkey.

Oh and £610 sounds expensive for September. I can google loads of 4* inclusive for £430 each inc flights????

As soon as the sun sets in Bodrum, the sound of live music starts rising all over town. Often considered to be the nightlife capital of Turkey, Bodrum has enough discos and clubs on just one street - Cumhuriyet, nicknamed "Barstreet" - to keep the parties going late into the night and early into the morning.

Follow the crowds and flashing neon lights and you’ll arrive in Halicarnas, a nightclub to end all nightclubs. If you don't let the line of people waiting to get in and the steep cover price discourage you, you'll get to hobnob with Turkey’s young and beautiful as well as dance the night away (or at least until 3:30 in the morning, when the action starts to wind down.) Halicarnas also puts on a light show that you can enjoy from the outside.

Moored up just behind the castle is Club Catamaran, exactly what the name says- a huge boat that sails out at 01.00 returning just before dawn. You can dance the night away on the glass dance floor!

I went some years ago on a lads holiday and it was great!! Loads of bars, loads of people out for a laugh, plenty of places to spend a drunken evening, loads of amazing kebabs for afterwards, excellent stuff!

If it's still much as it was, then it's a great place for a lads holiday, if it's a nice quiet family holiday you're after, avoid like the plague!!!

Read a review just now and Bodrum. Some ****ing muppet from Sunderland complained that it was 'full of forignors' and hardly any Brits to be seen.

Apart from a seemingly favourite hangout for your less literary competent consumer (judging by reviews), it seems fine. But I haven't been there so can't comment with actual experience. Interested to hear more though as I'm always on the prowl for places to visit.

I spent two weeks in gumbet, after about 3 days you learn how to deal with the street crew. It was a good lads holiday not going to lie, but a complete shed of a place. If you have girls with you, unlucky :p
