I may have lost my service book, and that's probably because I'm a numpty. I might find it again at some point in the future, but I have two questions:

1) I think the car's due for a service, but not sure - what's the servicing intervals on a Ford CMax? It's at 28k miles and probably needs it's 24k, if it's meant to have a 24k.

2) If it does need a service, can I take it to a dealer, get it serviced, get them to stamp a new book, and then if I find the old book take it back and get them to stamp that one as well?

I feel silly now :(

If it has had a main dealer service history so far they could probably supply you with a new book and use their records to bring it up to date.

Yes. If it has been serviced at a main dealers then any of them should be able to pull up the history.

This.

My service book never arrived, and the dealer can't find it. They are, however, supplying a new one stamped up with the services they have on record.

Turns out there's no such thing as a 'national dealer network' for Ford dealers. They're all under little franchises, and no-one can see anyone else's records outside of their small group of dealers. So now I've got to guess which dealer it might have had it's first service at and phone them.

Why this is true for Ford, when I know I can walk into any BMW Motorrad dealer in the country and get a full history for my bike makes me
