I will probably upgrade to a faster cpu and get an ssd (ddr3 ram and new mobo is part of this process)

Sticking with my 5870 tho.

Reckon I will feel any difference in gaming over what I have in my current sig?

Tomorrows games will be played: Skyrim, BF3 etc....

I'm you would benefit more from a GFX card than a CPU. However, ssds make windows bearable :)

No. I was on a q6600 setup and while saving up for sandy/ivy I came across an i7 920 setup with a 5870 for £400 so decided on that instead.

Poll is originally over 6 months old, would be interesting to see if the numbers have changed a lot, I for one have gone sandybridge this week.

I feel my Q6600 has some life left in it yet. Benchmarks don't bother me, it's quick enough and it's only the graphics that let it down really. I'll probably upgrade when Ivy bridge is out or even the next one after that, depending on how rich I get :p

I really need to as my e2180 @ 3 gig is really limiting my 5770 Xfire :(
This week only offer has the 2500 ram and mobo, just need a case before I hit buy!

I think allot of people have gotten sick of waiting for BD. I for one will now wait for Sandy Bridge E.

Im mulling over getting one of the overclocked sb bundles. Not as a replacement for the spec in sig though. My old second rig died a few days ago, (s939 a64 4000), so definitely in need of an update, not really worth throwing more cash at a prehistoric setup.

gone from a Q6600 Oc @ 3.2 , ati HD5770 ,8gig 8500 Ocz reaper to,
i5 2500k (stock) ati hd 5770 crossfire (received 2nd card free so i saw no pint upgrading gpu ) 8gig kingston genesis grey 1600.

noticed an good speed difference on most programs and games like bfbc2/crysis 2 runing on max settings look sweet as a nut.

This is what I want to hear.
So close so buying an 2500k rig and wondering if the 5770 xfire would still cut it.
Currently my CPU limits my 5770s to 30% on each card with 100% cpu in bfbc2!

with my Q6600 @ 3.6ghz i was never really satisfied with my gaming experience (frame drops, stuttering) but now with my i5 2500k my games play soooooo smooooothly, for example need for speed hot pursuit which ran really bad on my Q6600 now runs as smooth as gran turismo on Ps3 so i have started the game from the beginning because it feels like a totally different game.
