308 kmh on a public road near me

dont agree with the 150kmh one

but the 308 well id have to admit i would do the same , road was empty/safe and he wasn't at that speed or even above the limit for long

so it seems they cant precisely allege a speed but surely there is no question that he was travelling far in excess of the speed limit?

Yes, but it's a video that can also be faked so therefore it isn't really evidence and if it isn't sure how fast he was going how will they decide what the fine will be if the fine is based on the speed?

Maybe a judge needs to give a ruling though which over here is standard if you drive >30 kmh over the limit which IMO he clearly did :p

Irresponsible - fact. But at least he did it on a quiet and arrow straight piece of road. As already mentioned he backed it off quickly too.

Still no place for this on public roads.

True, but if you were in a GTR, similar stretch of road, nothing around, most of us would do it, just a lot of us would not admit it.

For a GTR to hit such speeds is not much effort involved at all, I remember been passenger in a GTR and the guy driving pulled just short of 170mph on a dual carriage-way with other cars on the road, I thought it was a bit outrageous but they are designed for it and can stop quick etc, though would be messy if an accident occured at such speeds.

Well truth be told if I was lucky enough to be in a GTR I might have to hammer it a bit!

Still, thinking senisbly there is no place for this on publc roads

Highly irresponsible :( having driven a GT-R tho I know exactly why he did it - it would be extremely hard for me to resist the urge to let it out on the road - theres something insanely savage and at the same time refined about the acceleration and handling.

I think I would stop at 200kmh though, the acceleration is more thrilling than pure topspeed.

Here's one I made earlier. Only 250kph though as my car was too slow:
