Minecraft or Terraria?

Terraria if you like more combat based, Minecraft if you prefer to build. You have building and combat in both but each one has more than the other.

Try the old Minecraft on their website for free.

I bought Terraria and find it very good.

I personally prefer Minecraft, but I do like building. It just turn it to peaceful and build things, you can't do that as far as I'm aware in Terraria.

Minecraft is great if you're into building stuff. You can use it to make some pretty epic things and I find it really relaxing to spend and hour or two just building and seeing what comes of it.

Terraria is very much an action game, the resource collection and building are really only something you'll do until you find gear in chests. Think of it more along the lines of Zelda 2 meets Ghouls and ghosts and you're closer to the mark than minecraft.

Both are time sinks though, but the choice is yours really. Minecraft for failry peaceful building, Terraria if you prefer some more action oriented play.

Minecraft is more about the building, terrarriraiia is more about spelunking and combat.

You can do a lot of building in teerrreiairaiiraiaiaia and there are plenty of awesome pixel art style projects underway but its not as in depth as say a full scale enterprise

Terraria is 2d and has more in the way of goals and objectives. Minecraft is 3D and is compleatly sandbox, you have no goals or objectives, you make your own. 1.7 promises the adventure update which suggests we may get something more to do, but it is all very tight lipped atm.

Both.

Both are well worth the purchase and both are still updated regularly with new content, who knows where Minecraft and Terraria will be in 1 years time.

Notch has already stated that he's trying to make the combat more interesting and fun. He's also stated that he is considering adding some sort of objective to the game, such as collecting "Map fragments" that are scattered and hidden amongst the land, this will force people to explore and add a bit of extra depth to the game.

The possibility's are literally endless when it comes to Minecraft, so much can be done and added.

Terraria on the other hand, just don't seem to have the longevity that Minecraft does.
