got no iso alcohol to remove thermal paste from my Gfx, what are my options!??

i just used a microfiber cloth worked like a charm, as the paste came off in 1min. then i used a few min on polishing it. it was like a mirror, only minor thing that happen was the Cooler was oc too long for the case by 4-5mm :D so i had to saw out a section of the top hard cage, to slot it in...

now im going to fiddle whit it, its whisper quiet........ i might try to Oc it.
its running at 21%fan speed 40 degrees idle @ 50% cant hear it, even at 80% i cant almost not hear it inside my fractal R3, this was a great buy.

Just to add I've always used Vodka and never had any problems. Currently have an old Arctic Freezer that used to cool my dual core many years ago. Cleaned with Vodka and its now cooling my Q9550 @ 4Ghz (with one plastic pin slightly knackered so its not even tightened down properly) Max temps of 62 degrees.

some use it, as its antiseptic

Nail polish removers contain oils too so remember to get rid of any residue. If you have or can get alcohol pads similar to what they use in hospitals use those as they contain 70% Isopropyl alcohol.

They are called Sterets or Alcohol Prep Pads. They're in small individual packs 50mm x 50mm. Needless to say I have loads here, but that's of no use to you. Your Dr's will have plenty though.

I use this.......

Dab it on a tissue and wipe carefuly. Do not pour it over your chip!!!!!

Spirit/vodka, isopropyl alcohol or a simple nail polish remover.

Don't use water, better just dry clean it with a paper towel if you have no other choice.

Hehe, polo sport ***, i use Acitone it's pretty nasty but dries in seconds so no chance of conductivity.
Edit: Lol "for the win" in short was blocked ?

Jam.

I tend to use IPA, i've got a bottle of it that i liberated from the lab. I've also got some disc brake cleaner which is just pressurised IPA.
