well skydiving in a wind-tunnel :D

Anyone did this? Fun for a 10 year old? Was thinking about getting this as a birthday present for my nephew. Had a quick look online but could only see this available in Manchester or Milton Keynes. Ideally would prefer one somewhere in Scotland. Anyone been to any in Scotland they could recommend?

Used one in Colorado a few years back, pretty good fun. The kids loved it, obviously they have to have an adult in the tunnel with them.

I did this with my 11yr old son and he loved it, Airkix next to the trafford centre

You get two goes and on the second one you can go a lot higher if you give the go ahead, but bear in mind it costs and extra £5 each......and is VERY addictive

Are you flying by yourself or does the instructor hold onto you for the whole time?

In milton keynes you have an instructor in the tunnel yes, but half the time they are just standing in there making sure you don't go flying out the door-way into the no-air area :p

Great fun, at the end of mine they grab onto you and spin you up and down to a good 15 ft or higher! Depending on how you've coped...I would love to go again

Like so:

EDIT: And the spinny up part is at 54 seconds :p

Then watch the instructor at 2:15

Someone asked me if I'd like to try this, to which I said hell yeah! We looked at the prices and it was about £70 for 2 minutes. So we said hell no! and went karting at Daytona instead :)

True story.

Depends where you go, cheaper if you book groups etc etc or birthday parties, it gets cheaper the more you go also.

it is very expensive for what you get

its ok to try it once or twice for a bit of fun, but unless you have a need (to improve your skydiving) then its not something you would take up on an ongoing basis (unless you had a lot of money)

Meh, no different than indoor snowboarding / skiing...If I had the money I would go regularily

We went last year with Tesco clubcard points. No way would I pay full price for 2 minutes but for those it was pretty good!
