Looking to do some outdoor swimming with someone from work. I'm totally new to London so wanted to know if anyone had some good spots? Would be much appreciated.

We've been doing some 20mile walks around London but she mensioned swimming outdoors would be really cool but was one of those 'passing thoughts'. Would be a great surprise to arrange this.

If any could help you would be good for the 'man points' :D

I don't know of any lakes or ponds actually in London, but Tooting Bec lido is open air

Just found Heath on: http://www.qype.co.uk/place/320765-hampstead-mixed-ponds-London

But really "I think the Heath might involve nudity and bE for gays though!"... ..this must be one of those urban myths.

tom e, you can swim in Hyde Park? Massive shock. Any rules on that because was planning it this sat come rain or shine. Wouldnt want to just jump in & get 'kicked out'. Bad memories from David Attenborough Nature reservoir in Beeston when decided to go kayaing (ps was epic sunshine).

They have a section of the lake roped off and have the changing rooms and things next to it, you can't just rock up and start paddling about in random bits of the lake :D
