Well this what i'm thinking after a visit to my dentists, i already go to a private dentist, she wants to charge £3,000 for a replacement back tooth.

I need a root canal and a few crowns and one gold as well so i might be looking at a bill of £5,000 to £7,000 depending, i'm thinking if i can get it done cheaper why not, has anyone any experience of dental treatment in budapest?

My husband is a yank he is not happy about me wanting to get it done in budapest and says it's a third world country and i should travel the 10 1/2 hour flight with our two babies back to Calif.

My ex-girlfriends mum thought that it was a good idea to go to Poland for a facelift, 8 infections later... I smelt puss EVERYWHERE, and when I say ex, maybe you get the picture. Looking back, maybe these two situations were unrelated. Wait wat. I confuse.

i had dental work done on an island off south croatia called havar by a dentist who didn't speak a word of english. i had an abcess and was in excrutiating pain after my painkiller tolerance had kicked in after 3 days. it was a last resport but he did an excellent job, even though my concerns over him operating on the wrong tooth was running through my mind the entire time! i went there at 9pm and back again at 7:30am the next day for him to finish the work off (i did wonder if they ever went home). he gave me a thumbs up and hand shake afterwards (that's not a euphamism) and i went on my merry way. i go to an nhs dentist so the cost was probably about the same but my naive opinion of how they may be a little 'behind' on the dental care was abolished.

my mate went to Slovenia for his, paid everything and when he got there they decided they couldn't do the work for what they quoted

Wouldnt mind going over there to get mine done actually. If only I had some cash put away!

I know some really good dentists in Prague, I can put you in touch if you want.

I normally go to these guys as its owned by one of my friends, they are around 2 or 3 times the price of other dentists in Prague but the service is excellent and its still cheaper then the uk also Klára Jedličková the Hygienist is soo soo cute :)

Wish I had the money for dental care abroad, I'd do it in a shot.

NHS dental care is more about ticking the box per patient and less about any ACTUAL work...I've never been invited to have anything other than a checkup, not even to see the hygienist, my dentist just doesn't want to know.

If I was private however.......
