Hey, i'd like some advice on this situation..

I recieved a monitor today, all seemed fine till this evening when I noticed a stuck red pixel right in the middle of the monitor.

I've tried and i'm currently trying many ways to fix it thanks to Google!

However upon reading a few threads it now seems odd that the box it came in was not sealed in any way.. Is this normal? or could this have been an already returned monitor?

Could this be a distance selling reg case?
Upon looking at OCUK's policy it seems I can send it back however this bit confuses me
Returned items must be packaged properly and shipped in a plain outer box.

So I could not send it back in the box it came as that wasn't plain? :\

Advice appreciated,
David

when ever i've returned something to ocuk i've always just put them in the box they cam in (ram and a PSU). but then these were inside a special delivery parcel bag.

i imagine they say plain outer box meaning that the items box is inside something else. that way it won't get covered in postage stickers and such. that would be my guessing anyway just to preserve the packaging. not sure if you could get away with just covering it in strong parcel paper or whether you need to put it in an actual extra box tho.

ring them up :D

If you want to DSR a monitor it is paramount that the box isn't ruined.

you could wrap it in a bin bag, or brown paper.

Essentially we can't resell the item as b-grade when you DSR it if the address or return address or RMA details are sprawled on it permanent marker (yes this has happened)

Even Biro marks are hard to remove. The monitor will get sold as b-stock and the buyer will assume it's really faulty if the box has RMA 20XXXX written on it

which involves a second DSR and so on so forth.

The box it came in is normally fine if you use sticky labels (like the parcel force ones) which are removable by heat gun.

Not having the box further devalues the item for us which when we are refunding you is a cost we don't want to incur.

Thanks for this information!

I assume it would be okay to put the postage stickers on it.. If i'm to DSR it is there a reccomended courier that would make it easier and less hassle?
