I'm always looking for someway to make my pc to perform better. However I'm quite geeky in the way I like it to look good as well.

So what would you upgrade to make your whole system look better all round. Nothing to do with performance here at all in regards to benchmarks.

So something like, triple monitors, leds strips, fancy keyboard on desk, mouse mats, side windowed panels etc.

So what do you think makes a whole system stand out and look amazing when you walk into the room? What would you like to add to yours? Maybe you have all you want already, what is it?

Looking for inspiration :D Cheers.

Short of full mod with dremmels and hacksaws, side window and cold cathodes, but no strobes. wall mounted or monitor arm, triple display, cable tidy (inside and outside), wireless keyboard and mouse, with a bit of light. Nothing too flash. Maybe some water cooling, that always looks nice.

1) I haz a Lian Li PC A71b, so no side panel window and no lights :/ Plus, it's on the floor so no point showing it off.
2) I haz a dual monitor stand.
3) I haz illuminated keyboard, and mouse, but not wireless.
4) And a nice looking set of speakers.

Problem is, my desk is filthy :)

I like the look of those fans. Very snazzy!

Well, I'm awaiting arrival of my three Dell u2311h'. I've got my wireless illuminated Logitech keyboard and wireless Logitech mouse. A standard CM690II, so no side panel. Just the front LED blue fan. A huge wooden desk with my 5.1 home cinema seperate speakers.

Something missing I think, need inspiration.

I've been tempted by this for months now. They keep getting them in stock and then dissapearing. I'm not sure, it used to be 20 quid IIRC. It is pretty good at that price. I'm tempted! All my cases have had a window except this one and I quite like the simplistic look. Ahh decisions, decisions!

Its simpler than you think;)

Cable management. Even if you don't have a window ;) Inside and out of the case btw! As far as braided cables go I'm not 100% sold on the idea, It makes everything seem bulkey, saying that I have seen a few instances of cable braiding I like the look of.

Colour coding of components, nothing annoys me more that a random spectrum of colours inside a case. I have actually ignored some pretty good motherboards in the past because I found them to garish. the one I'm using now actually is pushing the limit and I only had to settle for that at the last minute because overclockers sold me a mobo they didn't have! Luckily It kinda worked out okay when the components covered most of it all.

Multi-monitors look great as well as really improving your computing experience, probably more than any other upgrade can imho.

I like to keep my peripherals branded the same, KB/Mouse/Webcam/Speakers etc. I use Logitech for this.

I like to avoid gimics at all costs, anything that looks tacky like multicoloured fans anything that fits into a drive bays that aren't really needed. If they are needed they must be understated. I'm currently having a hard time finding a 3.5" black aluminium fan controller with minimal branding and a minimum of 4 fan support.

I hate gfx cards with tacky stickers on advertising games or whatever. Same with overly flash heatsinks, I remember someone made one to look like an F1 racing car (was it Sapphire? I have an utter hatred of Sapphire cards for no real reason I can think of, so I think it must be them..)

Total colour coordination, and ideally matched components throughout, currently i've got MSI mobo and gpu, intel chip and ssd, corsair cooler and ram, coolermaster case and psu.

Colour coordination is a real pain, it's easy to get everything right, but you have to make sacrifices or really up the budget. I've always lusted after the asus RoG mobos as they'd compliment my red/black theme that runs across my pcs and bikes.

I have a 775 ROG board :) Quite like, however the VRM heatsinks are way larger than they need to be. Causes problems with fitting retention brackets in certain orientations.

I don't have a side pane, (currently pondering it) so the colour of components isn't really an issue. However all my cables are as neat as I can make them within my case. I have quite a lot jammed into my Cm690II and I doubt anyone could get it neater with my non modular PSU with a bazillion connections. That's maybe a lie... I'm sure if I spent some cash on the right length sata cables etc, so there was no bending, perhaps made some other mods I could get it a bit neater but it's not worth the hassle.

I have to say the bitfenix pre-braided cables are a god-send for neatness.

Individual sleeving is a bit bulkier but looks so much neater because you dont have the ugly internal cables on display.
