I got some brie cheese and the outside is hairy with like white mold and as I opened the package (had some of the cheese other day so was not sealed), I noticed this small crawling bug, looks sort of reddish.

Cheers.

The mould is white and all over the cheese, it's like coated in it, and to the touch it's like all sort and feathery.

Not if it's fuzzy stuff actually growing on the outside of the cheese. That stuff is pathogenic and because brie is soft I think you're meant to throw it all out.

The 'mould' that you can eat on brie is actually the white outer skin.

Well the bug is not supposed to be.

Brie has a white skin but it shouldn't have hair like fibres on it, surely?.

Becuase it's amazing. I also like mushrooms.
Why does the fact it is mould put people off.

Why does the fact that mushrooms are, and grow in, poo not put you off?

Mushrooms, and all other forms of fungus, can FOAD. Blergh.

What do you think veg is grown in?
What do you think natural fertiliser is.
Do you like seafood? They are filters/scavengers depending what it is.

Life is great at filtering out the nutrients from the growing medium without taking in the harmful stuff.
