i hope this isnt a repost, but i saw this when i was linked to another post in the PC gaming section and had to share it.

as the title says, dell has shipped 65 screws in individual plastic bags, but they then decided to put each plastic bag into its own ~A4 size padded envelope. to add insult to mother nature's injury it was all put inside a giant cardboard box, with a mass of invoice paperwork

you would have thought they would have learnt not to do this after recieving many complaints from people hearing about them posting 50 CMOS batteries in individual large padded shipping boxes

i'm not normally one to complain that someone hasnt recycled their newspaper, or if someone uses their car for a walkable journey, but even i would complain at dell for not being eco friendly with their packaging.

(although theres not much ive left out)

Not a patch on HP I'm afraid, although Dell did once send me an A5 slip of paper inside an A4 jiffy bag.

Where I used to work used dell as a computer supplier and this sort of thing happened all the time. Definitely had the old screws in seperate envelopes thing before! Also had one stick of ram in a decent sized box, perfectly sealed and protected put inside ANOTHER box about 2ft x 3ft x 1ft! Where is the logic?!?! The packers are blatantly just doing it "for the lolz"

Brilliant, nice to know dell cares that their product reaches the customer intact and safely protected :D

Guys, I think we're all forgetting that these screws MUST be protected at ALL costs. ESD is a huge problem in the screwing business and is one that affects 99% of all screwers.
People's lives DEPEND on these screws
