Suspected burglar stabbed to death by homeowner

In Brazil the law is if someone breaks into your house or property you can legally kill them unless they get away. This is how we should do business, if you are one of the many scumbags who would make the decision to burgle then if this was the law you knew you would be taking the decision to risk you life.......end of.

yeah so you'd take a weapon and kill the home owner on sight rather than trying to run.

They had been troubling him for a long time and the police weren't doing anything about it, so (provided that is true) he did the right thing imo.

There is no evidence outside of Martin's testimony (and to quote Mandy Rice-Davies: "Well, he would say that, wouldn't he?") that he had ever been burgled before. He certainly never reported any of them, and his house was such a tip it's doubtful if he would notice. And he's a fruit-loop.

I'm sorry but if 4 masked men came in to my house (Bearing in mind you have no idea what they could be carrying on them, knife, gun), with the limited stuff I have around me I am not going to reach for the phone to call 999. I am also not going to be able to take them out one by one because lets face it who is Jackie Chan? then there is the option of attempting to hurt them, then of course you run the risk of them having a gun and putting a bullet in your wifes head.

There's nowhere near enough information yet about the case to make a judgement of whether the killing was reasonable self defence yet, so I'm witholding my judgement too.

A ninja gang breaking into ones house would typically make most people fear for their life, so until further evidence I'm siding with the home owners on this one.

That sounds awfully like a presumption that the home owner is guilty in these sort of cases to me!

Give over. People get arrested on suspicion of having committed a crime. If you are there with a knife and there's a dead body with a stab wound, then there is always going to be a suspicion that you may have committed a crime, regardless of the circumstances.

The risk of innocents being killed ("Come round to my house, sworn enemy, and let me show my shiny new knife collection") is too great.

I didn't say it would be right :p...all someone would have to do is kidnap someone and then torture kill them in their own home and say hey he broke into my home.

yea you pretty much said the same thing in your post i see....teach me to skim read.

It's true, you rarely think for yourself and only side with what ever the government/law has in place.

Really, you'll have to run that past me again. There is plenty I disagree with government about and many other things. What you mean is usually look past the media shoring and see it for what it is.

And what has that got to do with weapons being a defines. It's been showen death penalty isn't. So why would you think owners with the right to kill would. Seeing as we have a lot of law behind the home owner already.

if only he had stabbed and killed all 4 burglars
no witnesses no charges
and murder?? more like self defence- fear of ones own safety

wonder how many years he will get to then be released early due to mass pressure from the public
