I am looking to overclock my i5 2500k to around the 4.5 / 4.7 GHz mark, and am not sure which cpu cooler to buy.

My PC:
Intel Core i5-2500K & Asus P8P67 Intel P67 Motherboard Bundle
Asus GeForce GTX 480 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with Far Cry 2
XFX Pro 650W Core Edition Power Supply
Zalman Z9 Plus Tower Case With Fan Cooler
OCZ Special OPS 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit

I would be willing to spend around the £100 mark if seriously needed, but obviously want the best value for money around there, and the cheaper the better as long as it will do the job safely.
I definitely want it to be as safe as possible as if my cpu ends up dying then, being a student, I wouldn't be able to afford to replace :/ .

Any advice much appreciated. Thanks.

If you want great performance with relative silence and you have a budget of £100 then i would get (in fact i am getting) the Thermalright Silver Arrow.

It's had great reviews and at £50 it is exceptional value and will easily maintain a clock of 4.7GHz with minimum fuss (cpu/MB permitting of course).

EDIT: Will you be moving your rig around a lot (just noticed the student bit)? If you are/will be - i would consider an all-in-one water solution as they are more suitable for sytems that get moved around a lot. The performance isn't as good as the Silver Arrow but it will make transporting the rig less risky.

It won't be moved around too much as I will only be travelling home during holidays, not every weekend, so I wouldn't take that into account.

I would much rather have the best possible cpu cooling system, be it fan or watercooling, to make sure my CPU is perfectly safe, as if my CPU dies then I definitely won't be able to afford another.

Got the silver arrow in my Define R3 and its working wonders.... sadly my CPU will only clock happily to 4.4GHz so i'm limited by the processor rather than the cooler.

my case is 207.4 wide (yours is 207) and it fits with about 3mm to spare... Based on that it would be a tight fit so best to get OCUk to check :)

Ouch!

That's a very respectable setup for only 4.4Ghz.

Are you using the latest BIOS and how are you overclocking - manually or Auto?
