620W enough power for SLI?

Super quick response there Stulid!

Do you know if there is much benefit of the Antex 750W High Current Gamer vs. the XFX? I do quite like the build quality of the Antex, but it's quite a bit more expensive.

The XFX is a great PSU dude, I could bore you to death with links to reviews but its not necessary.

Both units have captive cabling, the XFX is made by Seasonic, i think the HCG750 is a delta design.

I'd play it safe and atleast get a 850W
+1

I guess it depends on what GPUs you are using, but even if you are planning on running GPUs with low power requirements initially, it is nice to be able to upgrade without having to buy another PSU too.

Thanks Stulid.

Yeah, I can see the point of building in upgradeability (is that a word?) - but I think 850W would be complete over-kill for my set-up. For example, I'm not planning on SLI-ing GTX 580s now or in the future (not sure my case / mobo would have enough space for that anyway, which would mean a complete upgrade).

I think 750W would allow plenty of growing space.

TDP for the 560 is supposedly 170w.

So a 750w PSU would still have 410w for everything else, way more than enough for all the other bits and bobs.

For reference, my rig in sig draws 420w from the wall at load, and the 5850 has a TDP of 150w (mine actually pulled 145w each)

Update: OK, I actually found a XFX 850W pro for the same price as a 750W (£70 inc. delivery) so ended up getting that.

I imagine that should last me a few upgrades :)
